Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Role & Responsibilities
Mechanical Lead Engineer’s role & responsibilities are to prepare the basic (FEED) engineering of Rotating and Packaged equipment in line with client requirement meeting all the relevant and applicable International, national standards and local statutory & regulatory requirement. The duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Having experience in basic (FEED) engineering
• Plans and conducts independent work within a global business unit requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to solving problems.
• Provides technical direction and assigns work to engineers, designers, and drafters who assist on specific assignments.
• Design optimization & value engineering
• Responsible for the review of contractual documents.
• Responsible for Requisition, Data Sheets & Specification for all Rotating and Package equipments like: compressors, steam turbines, gas turbines, pumps, package items, etc.
• Experience in working with Rotating & Package equipment vendors to specify, evaluate technical bids and reviewing vendor documentation.
• Responsible for the review of Vendor drawing and data, etc.
• Must be able to communicate detailed design issues effectively with suppliers, clients, and other engineering disciplines.
• Experience in working with estimation of Rotating and Package equipments.
• Prepare the followings:
- Prepare Job Execution Plan
- Design Verification Report, if required
- Engineering Progress Reports
- Periodical Status Reports
- Prepare Engineering schedule
- Engineering Progress Reports
• Approval with Sample Review of Bid Evaluation Report
• Review with random check of Bid Clarification Meeting and Kick-off Meeting
• Review with random check of coordination with vendor
• HAZOP Study
• Engineering man-hour estimation
• Review with random check of equipment cost estimation
• Review with random check of change order with vendor or client
• Sub-Con evaluation and selection
• Sub-Con control and management

Requirements

1. Education and training
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Full conversant with International engineering standards, codes and industry practices such as API, ASME, ISO, ANSI, NEMA, API standards and other local regulation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Fluent operation of Microsoft Office software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.
- Professional registration and membership and active participation in external technical society preferred.

2. Experience
- 20 years experience in basic (FEED) & detail engineering of mechanical / package equipments in field of refineries, petrochemical plant, oil & gas sectors
- Experience in preparing proposal and ITB
- Experience in EPC contractor and understanding of technical terms.
- Job leader experience for the oversea project is required.
- Have a stable employment history working with EPC companies on long term contracts
- Over five(5) years experience for basic (FEED) engineering
