Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Objective:
The SHE Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, communication and coordination of all environmental, health, and safety programs in Tawazun Dynamics. This position will develop and provide technical and administrative direction on all SHE decisions, which bear critical importance to the overall objectives, operations, and profitability.

Directs the resources and activities to support the SHE programs.
Advice and guidance to the Company Senior Management.
Continually maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness to create a culture that prioritizes effective SHE and balances overall associated costs.
Review internal SHE policies and practices to ensure they are current and appropriate; conduct hazard and risk assessments and change existing, or develop new recommendations from these assessments.
Serve as the expert within the field of SHE when called upon to address regulatory agency compliance issues, third party safety & liability consultants and subcontractor representatives.
Responsible for the staffing and directing the SHE Department, including the management of all Safety representatives.
Responsible for the development of an annual budget recommendations and implementation.
Provide regular written reports, as well as other production-related results and updates to the Senior Management Team
Assist project team in investigation of all project incidents (Incidents, Near Miss and First Aid) and ensure proper records are completed and submitted.
Assist in implementation of corrective actions as it relates to the incident and ensure lessons learned are communicated throughout the Company and are incorporated into the program, if necessary.
Devise, supervise, and coordinate training programs or media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote SHE consciousness.
Actively participate in the scheduling of safety meetings across Company locations to review SHE performance and policies
Address specific reporting and record keeping requirements of OSH Act as well as other pertinent safety/regulatory compliance matters and to ensure project sites are in compliance
Oversight of SHE incentive programs and periodically reviews them to ensure they are accomplishing the desired results. Make necessary changes to the program to maximize effect.
Stay abreast of current and emerging technical and professional aspects of this position.
Conduct audits and self-assessments.
Participate/attend industry related conferences when requested to do so.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of employees.
Train employees under your management; plan, assign and direct work, address complaints and resolve issues.

Requirements

Key Accountabilities:
Maintain a SHE management system in Tawazun Dynamics
Work force training and awareness to acceptable level
Risks managed
Leading representatives and monthly review sessions
Emergency plan and procedures established
Audits planned and executed

Preferred Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Masters in Engineering is preferred.
Excellent working knowledge of all ISO standards and certifications (9001, 14001, 18001 etc.).
Six Sigma Green Belt is an added advantage for this position.

Preferred Experience:
Minimum 10-15 years of experience in the relevant area.
Required to interact with all departments, customers and suppliers.
Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Operating Environment:
Work normally performed in a typical office work environment, with regular visits to the assembly line site.
Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to deal with work-related deadlines, accountabilities and responsibilities.
Must be able to work under frequent job pressure generated by short and inflexible deadlines.
Must be able to work independently and under time constraints.
