Within the United Arab Emirates, AECOM announced that it has signed a contract to provide development management services to Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) for the Saadiyat Cultural District.

Saadiyat Island is one of the Arabian Gulf’s largest single mixed-used developments. Saadiyat Cultural District will include some of the world’s most significant museums including the Zayed National Museum, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and the Louvre Abu Dhabi as well as more than one million square feet of mixed-use facilities.

AECOM’s work involves acting as an extension of the project owner from the inception through to facilities completion. The programs are extremely fast moving, necessitating the requirement to bring together the best talent.

SUMMARY: Perform Project site management practices in order to reduce risk exposure, environmental compliance monitoring, and liability for the program.

• Responsible for ensuring the contractor’s and sub-contractor’s implementation of the SHE program on the project site.
• Accountable for having a solid understanding of the contract requirements and communicating them to the project team.
• Ensure that all parties involved in a project are working to meet the same goals and they program expectations in regards to SHE.
• Monitor technical standards and ensure they are translated into contract deliverables.
• Ensure coordination between contracts to assign responsibility to only one party.
• Review contracts to maintain only reasonable and realistic expectations.
• Continually meet with project teams to ensure safety, health and environment standards are maintained.
• Provide daily onsite review of the project site construction activities and provide contractor summary report of the SHE items noted on site.
• Advise project teams when problems and claims notifications occur.
• Review and track insurance coverage for alignment with overall risk management program.
• Work with project teams to manage health, safety and environment associated with project delivery contract type.
• Review the program work plan and individual contracts to advise project teams of potential safety, health and environment non-compliance.
• Interfaces with all Saadiyat Island project teams
• Provide safety, health and environment advice to project teams so they can successfully plan, develop, implement and complete projects while maintaining high professional standards.
• Management of loss control activities
• Investigating Incidents
• Perform SHE training
• Review contractor’s SHE submittals and be able to comment on them

Requirements


Requirements


• 8-10 years experience. Degree in related field. IOSH NEBOSH certification a must.
• Capable of calm and a well thought out responses to difficult issues.
• Possess a high level of professional ethics and integrity.
• Ability to communicate with client, International design firms and contractors
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Forward-thinking
• Ability to work under pressure
• Understanding of Global compliance best practices of SHE
• Able to train on SHE topics
