Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures, Job Safe Analysis, Job Safe Procedures and safety audits related documents. These will be in accordance with set Ashghal standards and policies/procedures.
- Verifies, checks and ensures that facilities, machinery, and safety equipments in the plant are in line with Ashghals operational safety requirements. Liaises closely with Quality, Safety and Environment
- (QSE) Department to ensure awareness of Ashghal safety regulations and standards and implement them accordingly within the plant.
- Assists management with developing and maintaining the budget for safety and training.
- Develops and conducts various safety related training classes in such areas as confined space entry, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, hazardous communications, personal protective equipment, safety regulations, and various other related safety topics.
- Perform audits at the Sewerage Treatment Plant and provide recommendations on corrective actions; authorized to immediately halt work activities if deemed unsafe; assists in regular safety audits of the plant and provide recommendations on corrective actions.
- Creates and enhances the safety culture; assists and promotes team building among all employees through workshops, supervisor guidance and continual communication among all employees.
- Investigates causes of industrial accidents or injuries to develop solutions to minimise or prevent recurrence. Liaises with QSE Department to ensure the organisation is aware of accidents and appropriate corrective action is implemented.
- Conducts plant or area surveys to determine safety levels for exposure to materials and conditions.
- Compiles, analyzes, and interprets statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents.

Requirements

- Bachelors Degree of engineering
- Minimum of 10 years work experience in Sewerage Treatment
- Certificate in First Aid/Hazardous Assessment and Precaution and ISO 18000; and H2S and
- breathing apparatus
- Knowledge of Safety and Health Administration Standards
