Job description / Role
JOB PURPOSE:
SAFETY ENGINEER carries out responsible, varied assignments requiring general knowledge of HSE engineering.
Problems solved using a combination of standard procedures or modifications thereof. More complex work projects will be referred to more senior authorities for guidance.
Majority of work is focused on sampling, analyzing and monitoring. The incumbent is the Company resource on issues relating to safety engineering, environment protection, loss prevention, risk assessment, fire protection, road safety, explosion analysis and consequence modeling.
ACCOUNTABILITIES include:
Identify and assess potential hazards, accidents, and emergency situations associated with operations.
Participate, develop and maintains the HSE policy which establishes the Company’s key objectives in the field of Environment, Health and Safety performance.
Analyze existing facilities, perform air water and land pollution source sampling, assist in developing and implementing inspection programs.
Monitor safety/environment standards and compliance with regulations.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:-
A university degree in an engineering or equivalent discipline is required
Together with 5 TO 15 years experience in the Safety and/or Environment Protection in an oil/gas process industries setup. Knowledgeable of computer systems and applications.
Candidates with Diploma will be considered for Safety Foreman Positions.
