The Role


The Role


Nalco have an opening for an SH&E Program Manager in our Nalco Gulf office located in Dubai. The SH&E Program Manager will be primarily responsible for leading the development and implementation of the safety, health and environmental management system for the EAME region.

Other Responsibilities include:

• Manage the regional implementation of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management System including planning, implementation, checking and review phases to ensure safety, health and environmental issues are identified and managed and policies and procedures are implemented
• Develop and coach district Safety Champions on all safety, health and environmental related activities
• Assess training needs/requirements of company personnel. Source external courses or prepare and deliver required safety, health and environmental training content

• Actively promote and communicate safety, health and environmental issues
• Facilitate emergency preparedness planning and drills to ensure personnel and equipment resources are knowledgeable regarding potential emergencies
• Ensure that safety, health and environmental incidents, near misses and observations are reported promptly and investigations are carried out in line with company’s policy and procedure
• Prepare regional safety, health and environmental statistics and performance measurements
• Promote safety, health and environmental awareness and commitment in employees, supervisors and management by personal example and relationship building

The desired candidate will have professional experience to include:
• Middle East work experience
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a geographically dispersed team
• Good people skills, displaying confidence
• Excellent Project Management skills
• Excellent investigative and problem solving skills in order to detect issues and determine appropriate responses and preventive actions

Requirements


Requirements


The minimum qualifications the candidate will have include:
• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a science or technical specialty related to safety, health and environmental practice
• Energy Industry/Petrochemical experience
• Excellent command of English both spoken and written. Arabic is a plus. Russian would also be looked upon favourably.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent preferred.
