Job description / Role
Our client is one of the largest LNG producing companies in the world. They are currently looking for Safety officer who will provide input and support for the safe conduct of work by personnel associated with the development and operation of the Company's LNG plant and associated onshore process, storage and loading facilities.
Job Purpose
* Provides safety and loss prevention information, support and mentorship to Operations personnel and other internal clients to ensure the conduct of safe and hygienic work practices.
* Assists with the development and implementation of safe operating and emergency procedures, manuals, bulletins and other safety publications.
* Takes an active role in the development and implementation of the permit to work system and provides independent oversight by reviewing selected permits issued by Operations personnel.
* Assists with the development and conduct of safety training courses.
* Conducts regular facility safety inspections of operating plant and equipment as well as new projects/modifications under construction, prior to mechanical acceptance and start up.
* Participates in audits of safety program implementation.
Requirements
* Bachelor of Science degree in Safety or Loss Prevention Engineering, or equivalent
* Minimum 8 years experience in safety and loss prevention in the oil and gas sector.
* Excellent knowledge of the use of safety equipment and an understanding of safe work practices.
* Computer literate with good knowledge of business software applications.
* Good written and oral communication skills in English.
