Safety & Security Supervisor

Job description / Role

Managing safety and security aspects/issues for the 11 housing residential compounds and 800 tenants (employees and families’ members) that live in Doha city. The position will demand a safety support and advice on NFPA to the management, the residents of the residential facilities and landlord staff. The person shall manage, develop and monitor Housing Safety, and Environment projects as required. Check, inspect and monitor the HSE performance of the departmental contractors like i.e. general safety, civil integrity, fire equipment maintenance services, waste management/disposal, pest control, potable water testing and e.g.

1. To perform general safety inspections for the housing and public facilities, facilities infrastructure, issue the observation reports and recommendations, track the progress with the departments’ supervisors, develop and submit the safety inspections reports on monthly, quarterly and annual basis to the Head of the department.

2. To provide specialist advice on health, safety and environmental issues related to housing safety. To keep up to date with changes in Qatar Sate legislation, QG HSE regulations, policies and QG safety strategy developments, good practice and to produce guidance and briefings where appropriate.

Requirements

Previous 5 years’ experience in occupational health and safety, environment and quality management, emergency and risk assessment management .

Exceptional skills in Fire Engineering/Safety experience.

Strong customer service background and skills

Advanced typing and clerical skills

Strong English language skills: reading, writing and communication

Strong NFPA and Qatar Civil Defence Law knowledge

Excellent negotiation and follow up skills with external parties

Knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, PHA, MS Project and equivalent programs.

University degree in Occupational Health and Safety or/and Environment studies will be a plus

Certification in SHE and/or Quality (NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA and other equivalent)

Any technical/engineering education will be a plus.
