Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are looking for a Safety Supervisor for our multi-billion dollar project, someone who advises and assists Project and Construction Management in the formulation, implementation and management of major project safety plans.

These plans may pertain to one or more job site locations, which are separate and distinct construction operations requiring integrated supervision of programs.

Ensures that the project safety plan provides a coordinated plan for the overall project which complies with the prevailing safety requirements at each location.

Represents the Safety Manager on construction job sites. Advises and assists the senior construction site representative in the establishment and management of safety programs and in identifying and eliminating/controlling any hazards to persons and property.

Represents management during safety inspections of the job site by regulatory authorities or company insurance carriers.Provides oversight to the new hire safety orientation process and other safety related training.

Reviews risk assessments for upcoming work and provide technical assistance to the safety planning process.Assist the HSE Manager in developing Safety Performance Indicators and Targets and helps communicate findings to staff and assist in implementation of the mitigation strategies.

Participates in Weekly HSE Meetings with Contractors and assists and participates in site safety training.

Reviews and advises Construction Manager and Safety Manager on safety requirements in the Method Statement and Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).

Responsible for auditing Supervising Consultant oversight of Contractor Project Safety and ensure project is in compliance with corporate H&S requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
4-year degree in Health and Safety, diploma and/or equivalent experience and relevant safety related training courses.

Minimum Experience:
5 years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety.

Further Qualification Required:
Requires a thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations and reporting procedures, as well as good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. In-depth understanding of safety management systems and procedures.

Further Experience Required:
NEBOSH Certification or equivalent

Ability to obtain Qatar driving license by equivalency.
