Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Ensures the implementation of loss prevention regulations and procedures inspects and recognizes positive and negative safety behaviours, unsafe acts and conditions and recommend corrective actions in the light of day-to-day work environment. Develops and update safety practices and procedures. Imparts safety training to MIC personnel, drafts safety communications, arranges and participates in the safety meetings and issues safety updates and reports to the supervisor in a frequent regular basis. Reports safety incidents and advises alternate methods of practice.

H & S Systems

Assist in planning and oversee implementation of processes necessary to deliver environmental and occupational health & safety management systems, aligned with ISO 14001, and the OHSAS 18001 management system standard.
Co-ordinate emergency response plan on behalf of MIC.
H & S Impact

Contribute to ongoing improvements of environment & safety systems, by analysing impacts in the workplace primarily at Raz Az Zawr Site, as well as Jubail offices and implements best practices in external environment.
Risk Assessment

Facilitate technical risk assessments and specialist investigations, such as accidents.

Prevention and protection

Conduct fire prevention & protection assessments.
Implement emergency preparedness processes.
Audit contractor compliance with procedures.
Define environment & safety requirements and standards for construction projects.
Conduct systems audits, as required from time to time
Operations

Audit FM Contractor to resolve health & safety challenges to contribute towards continuous safety and environmental performance improvement.
Monitors and reports on Waste Management and kitchen hygiene.

Training

Schedules and conducts annual refresher safety training sessions for staff.
Draws up lessons for safety training and obtaining approvals from the supervisor/manager before they are imparted to the trainees.

Budget

Participate in the preparation of budgets and HSE business plans
Consultants

Liaise with consultants and Ma'aden personnel regarding the health & occupational health aspects pertaining to safety

Other

Provide reports and fulfil other similar or related activities as directed

Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering or Health/Safety

At least 2 years experience in industrial safety and loss prevention in infrastructure, accommodation and construction projects

High proficiency in English
Advanced computer literacy
Demonstrated knowledge of leading health & safety practice, as well as international environment & safety management systems
Analytical and problem solving skills
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
Good report writing and presentation skills
