Edgen Murray is a leading global supplier to the energy and infrastructure markets specialising in Steel Pipe, Plate, Valves and related components. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Manager to join our growing team on a permanent basis in our Dubai office.

The successful candidate shall be supported by our Vice President and Senior Management team to support the strategy and growth activities consistent with Edgen Murray’s processes and procedures, strategic plan and business goals for the UAE region. Responsible for the management of commercial accounts through the entire sales lifecycle. Use networking activities in order to develop new business opportunities while maintaining and servicing an existing customer base in order to exceed revenue forecast.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for managing, supporting, and servicing the needs of an assigned set of strategic customers.

- Create prospects through lead generation and leverage existing customer relationships to promote and sell the total Edgen Murray product line servicing the specified market.

- Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as purchasing, sales, marketing and operations to develop and provide products that are responsive to customer needs and market conditions.

- Proactively conduct strategic account reviews with all assigned customers on a regular basis to review service needs and usage trends to maximise potential and maintain high levels of customer service.

- Effective management of supplier relationships through skilled negotiation and communication skills to ensure a positive working relationship.

- Track relevant project opportunities and take appropriate actions to maximise future opportunity for the company on a global basis.

- Timely and accurate preparation and submission of competitively priced quotations while endeavouring to maintain a maximum profit margin.

- Work with the applicable Sourcing Manager and Project team to develop product, pricing and delivery strategies in order to present customers with the most favourable solution.

- Negotiate credit and commercial terms and conditions to ensure sales contracts are accurately documented and in place for projects or orders booked.

- Estimate date of delivery to customers, based on knowledge of inventory and delivery schedules and update all applicable parties and/or systems of any change in the estimated date of delivery.

- Act as a liaison to the customer during any activities related to a claim to ensure satisfactory resolution is achieved.

- Coordinate the preparation of, or prepare bids for proposals and projects to achieve sales and profitability goals.

- Tracking and management of customer, supplier and other relevant commercial data through the applicable systems.

- Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry specific quality codes and standards.

- Supervise, appraise performance, and participate in staffing procedures, decisions and training of employees, as applicable.

- Travel throughout the designated territories to call on regular and prospective customers.

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree.
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience.
Minimum three (3) years relevant industry experience
Pipe experience would be very beneficial

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.A).
Good understanding of the Steel industry

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
