Job description / Role
Edgen Murray is a leading global supplier of specialized products for worldwide energy and infrastructure markets.
We deliver high performance pipe, plate, valves and related components to upstream, midstream, downstream, power, civil construction and mining customers from more than 35 global locations.
We are currently looking to recruit a Sales Coordinator to join and assist the Downstream sales team in the local office in all aspects of end to end sales processes and covering for sales employees when needed to ensure that exceptional customer service is delivered at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and produce quotations for customers in a timely manner from enquiries passed on directly or through other members of the sales team.
- Source suppliers at quotation stage.
- Contact customers and suppliers to follow up and obtain feedback after quotations have been produced and sent.
- Process stock and traded sales orders using management information systems.
- Assist in the preparation of bidding documents with the sales team.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key new or existing suppliers and customers.
- Maintain an excellent understanding of market drives and competition.
- Attend existing client visits and also assist the sales team when calling on new customers.
- Participate in regional sales meetings when required.
- Liaise with and take an active role in involvement in sales team project work
- General sales administrative duties for rep offices in the regional offices when required.
- Cover duties for other members of sales the team who are on leave or travelling
- Any other tasks as may be assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
BA in Engineering, Commerce or IT
Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Relevant Steel Industry experience
Product knowledge.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficient knowledge of MS Office.
Experience in working with ORACLE, SAP or other similar software platform.
