Sales Engineer – Large Multinational

Global Telco Company in Dubai looking for Filed Application Engineer / Pre sales Engineer / Sales Engineer to focus on technical sales throughout Middle East.
Reporting to: Local Sales Manager
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Product introduction and launch
•The FAE is responsible for new product launch into the region of a specified range of products.
•This includes relevant product training for sales teams and the FAE, and other technical/sales support staff.
•To ensure the required documentation is available and /or locally generated to support product launch. Also, planning with the sales management of how/when to introduce, launch strategies etc.
•Preparation and management of the demonstration stock, demonstration kits, accessories, and guides.
Internal technical training
•To be responsible to deliver the appropriate level of technical training to Sales Engineers and account managers.
•To identify the individual requirements and how to deliver this. This is both for product training and general technology training.
Sales strategy input, identify markets and customers.
•The product manager will work with the sales management to help set targets for product sales in the region.
•He/she will have personal sales targets (product specific and regional).
•The FAE will have targets agreed for key products, to achieve the sales potential of each product in the region
Technical authority in the region
•The FAE is required to maintain a high standard of technical ability in the area of expertise (e.g. 3G/LTE/HSPA, manufacturing, RF measurement, protocol), and be able to demonstrate this ability.
•This may be through invited papers at conferences, technical articles in relevant journals etc.
•Delivery of high quality product and technical training to customers as part of the total offering from Company.
Technical assistance to account managers and technical contact point for customers
•The FAE must have the ability to make detailed product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations with customers, and will act as the main point of contact to Company for all technical issues.
•To be able to translate customer requirements into Company solutions, considering not only straight product solutions, but to be able to define ‘system’ solutions and alternative solutions for customers.
•This requires high technical ability, good customer facing skills, and good team working with sales engineers and account managers.
•To provide product technical feedback into local management, Company divisions, and marketing departments on customer requirements, industry trends etc.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•Valid driving licence
•Excellent communication skills.
•An appropriate technical qualification. (eg BSc, HNC in Telecommunications, Electronic Eng., Physics etc.)
•Experience within a relevant sector of the industry (Telecom Sector)
•Understanding of telecom equipment’s exposure.
•Ability to deal with the appropriate range of levels within the customer’s organisation
•Able to handle and move test equipment using the appropriate handling procedures.
•Prior field sales experience
•Strong technical background (e.g. R&D, manufacturing)
•Experience of test and measurement market
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Ability to communicate and present information to all relevant levels
•Able to develop contacts
•Willingness to travel frequently throughout the country and occasionally anywhere in Europe.
•Competitive, with a “need to win”.
