THE POSITION

Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the day-to-day running of the Fire Solutions business in the region, with the clear objective of actively promoting, and selling, the companies full range of products and services. In conjunction with the customer base develop, implement, and achieve annual sales plans along with key goals and objectives that will help drive the business forward for the longer term. Develop and maintain a close and professional customer relationship ensuring that the strength of the partnership grows within all levels of both businesses. Lead and develop the sales team by providing clear direction, effective decision making and a pro-active “can do” approach. Maintain & promote the companies key objective of providing high quality professional and on time customer service and support at all times.

Principal Responsibilities

* Develop business plans and go to market strategies that help pave the way for long term profitable growth for the business and the customer base. Implement all approved plans in a timely manner and provide ongoing feedback as to the level of success achieved plan and any ongoing corrective actions.
* Ensure that the sales and internal support teams are clear on the objectives of the business and are fully trained in any new products ahead of the customers.
* Ensure that the customer is provided with support in terms of sales and marketing materials, training and technical assistance.
* In conjunction with the distributor, sales team, marketing and factories plan, promote and launch new products into the market.
* Review pricing strategies and distributor discounts so as to maximise profitability whilst maintaining market price parity on known value items. Ensure that the pricing strategy reflects the premium rating that the brand has in the market.
* Prepare annual sales plans and budgets along with key G&O’s for the business, each team member and each distributor.
* Carry out regular business reviews with each distributor in conjunction with the RSM’s, this should include sales YTD, prospect list and key goals and objectives agreed with the distributor.
* Provide input into STRAP plans as required.
* Ensure all customers sales and field staff are trained and that training records are maintained.
* Work with factories and have input into NPD, forecasting, promotional campaigns, customer visits, exhibitions etc.
* Manage and develop all employees in order that they can successfully achieve their objectives on a consistent basis. Carry out regular HPD review in line with the guidelines.
* Provide timely feedback on all aspects of the business including sales data, financial statements, product requirements, market data, business development opportunities, customer issues and any other matters deemed to be important/relevant in order to develop the customer relationship and profitably grow the business
* Manage and mentor your direct reports in an open environment so as to allow them to develop as sense of comfort, confidence and ownership at all times.
* Oversee the SIOP process and ensure timely feedback.

THE CANDIDATE

Education Required

* Relevant High School qualifications, including English & Maths.
* Degree standard engineering qualification, preferably electrical/electronics biased

Work Experience Required

- Minimum 5 years experience in a sales/marketing environment selling life safety, or electrical, products and systems into the specifier/contracting community preferably through distributors and integrators.

Technical Skills & Specific Knowledge Required

* High competence in standard MS Office applications including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Competent use of e-mail and the Internet.
* Minimum 5 years fire alarm systems experience, preferably in design and applications and/or installation, commissioning and programming.

Language Requirements

- English language, other common regional languages an advantage.
