The Role


The Role


Our client is a European airline currently going through an exciting and challenging transformation. Employing the top talent from some of the world's leading airlines to lead and manage this process, they are now looking for a strong Sales Manager to restructure the Sales department and to drive new and improved processes that will guarantee successful revenue generation. Please note this is a contract role, with maximum length of 2 years.

Reporting directly into the CEO, the Sales Manager will be fully responsible for both passenger and cargo Sales departments, and will be expected to lead from the front. You will be required to analyse the current sales operations to identify any weaknesses or areas of improvement and will be expected to lead the subsequent departmental restructuring in order to enhance the Sales department's performance. Other responsibilities are as follows:
* Develop and implement short, medium and long term business plans and sales strategies
* Develop strategic relationships to secure new business
* Preparing periodic reports for the CEO and Chief Restructuring Officer
* Financial profitability of Sales department
* Train, motivate and mentor Sales team members to help them reach and surpass both individual and company sales targets

To be considered for this role, candidates must:

* Be an experienced sales manager (minimum 5 years' sales management experience) with demonstrated experience in analysis of current sales agreements with external partners (GSA’s, Travel Agents) plus ability to maximize sales potentials via direct means (website, repeat business)
* Have strong negotiation skills, ability to analyse information and data.
* Have the ability to assess effectiveness of Sales Agreements and Frequent Flyer Program attraction
* Have the ability to present strong, business rational plans for improvement to senior board management.
* Experience of working for a large or reputable airline
* Passenger sales experience. Candidates with both passenger and cargo sales experience will be looked upon favourably. Candidates with only cargo sales experience will be rejected
* Candidates must be Western or European, and must speak fluent English. All other nationalities will be rejected
* Restructuring experience advantageous.
