Job Overview:

This position provides technical product and application support to the sales group as well as to external customers with focus on the UOP Molsiv & Alumina product portfolio. This includes design support and technical consultation to UOP's clients in refinery, petrochemical and natural gas processing plants primarily in Saudi Arabia & the Middle East. Additional project work will support UOP clients in other regions of the EMEA (e.g. Europe, Russia & Central Asia, Africa).

Responsibilities:

Design Support:

• Analyze and review technical tender documents for adsorption units, either for new projects/units or for revamp/reload of existing units, to determine fit for existing UOP Molsiv & Alumina products
• Based on RFQ document, prepare basic adsorption unit design using UOP Molsiv & Alumina products, including number and sizing of required adsorber vessels together with adsorption/regeneration cycle settings
• Provide design feedback to sales in the form of Design Summary Sheet and Vessel Loading Diagrams; provide input for detailed technical proposal as required
• Apply and develop new UOP Molsiv & Alumina products design tools for adsorption units to ensure/improve design consistency and productivity

Sales Support:

• Provide design support to sales personnel and customers on new adsorption units or existing adsorption units for introduction of UOP Molsiv & Alumina products
• Support sales personnel for customer clarification meetings (end-user and contractor) including site visits
• Support sales during project stage to resolve/explain technical issues / matters around the adsorption units for use of UOP Molsiv & Alumina products
• Liaise internally with UOP's ATS team and SA&S Development organization to assist development projects and / or to develop jointly resolutions for specific customer problem using UOP Molsiv & Alumina products

Technical Service Site Support:

• Provide onsite services related to adsorption units having installed UOP Molsiv & Alumina products: loading supervision, startup activities, performance evaluations, unit optimization, troubleshooting and adsorbent testing
• Prepare and provide technical reports / presentations on the results of the onsite service work
• Act as UOP contact person / technical expert responsible with customer representative on site
• Liaise internally with UOP's ATS team and SA&S Development organization to provide feedback on the customer experience with UOP Alumina products or identify new application fit for UOP Molsiv & Alumina products

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering
• 2 -5 years experience in technical role in hydrocarbon process industry, preferably in refinery, petrochemical/polymer plants and ethylene plants
• Expertise and prior knowledge on adsorption or catalyst chemistry or processes is regarded an important benefit
• Strong communication skills, strong analytical skills, team worker yet to be able to work independently on site, self motivated, eager to learn and strong customer focus
• General process knowledge of natural gas plants & petrochemical plants
• Fluent English and Arabic communication skills
