Security Consultant - Nigeria

Reporting directly to the Principal Consultant (Energy & Infrastructure security practice), this role is about building senior-level client relationships and delivering strategic and technical advisory services to help them manage their security-related risks. Clients will be senior decision makers in multinational corporations, Governments and international organizations, and quasi-governmental organizations. Core areas of advisory services will include crisis management, security strategy, market entry, system designs and risk management.

Specific Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Lead consulting projects, including:
- Providing thought leadership to drive towards solutions of client problems
- Leading research, writing overall project report and ensuring quality control of all products/deliverables
- Overall project management of deliverables and team members
- Interacting with clients at senior and working levels
- Presenting findings of work to team members and clients in an iterative and participative manner as needed

Production of written documentation, reports, and presentation materials covering:
- Physical Security Audits
- Security Master Planning
- Crisis Management Plans
- Operational Security Reviews
- Security Risk Assessments
- Security Systems Design Reports and Drawings
- Proactively support business development efforts
- Building trusted relationships with clients that lead to follow on work
- Building and developing a network of contacts and potential opportunities in target sectors
- Developing proposals for potential projects
- Providing functional and operational guidance for proposals and bids, working closely with Sales Support team
- Establish and maintain relationships with partners and local business groups with a view to strengthening the companys offering.
- Represent the company at senior level meetings and consultations with client representatives, government agencies and industry associates connected to specific projects, and at conferences and seminars

Requirements

- Senior level (minimum 10 years) experience as a security consultant, preferably in a top tier consulting firm
- Industry experience in infrastructure security sector and/or government strongly preferred
- Comfortable in a fast changing environment and able to work appropriate hours and in sometimes difficult locations
- Able to travel extensively in Nigeria, on occasion and throughout Africa as required
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, combined with a strategic perspective
- Intellectual versatility and desire to work on projects across different areas
- Ability to structure thinking in a logical and compelling way
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Excellent people engagement (upward and downward management, client interaction) skills
- Self-starter who thrives in an environment where drive and initiative are critical, is determined to succeed, and is comfortable with ambiguity.
- Experience of working in challenging environments in the Middle East or Africa

Desirable:
- Experience in Engineering Design of Physical and Electronic Security Systems
- Experience of Working in Nigeria
- Existing industry contacts and customer leads in Nigeria and across Africa
- Degree-educated.
- Industry qualifications such as PSP, CPP
