Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To lead the Crisis Management and Security Management function of Majid Al Futtaim Properties Shopping Malls to ensure the best practice and standards in incident reporting, Crisis management capability, security best practices and threat and risk assessments associated with the operations of MAFP Shopping Malls across the region.

To effectively coordinate and liaise with MAFP management, Mall teams and corporate functional areas in order to plan the effective recovery capability to any incident occurring within the MAFP Shopping Mall portfolio.

To provide expert security advice, training and leadership and manage external contracts with International SOS for travel medical and security risk management.

Key Tasks:
1. To assess and implement a consistent approach to crisis Management, identifying updates to the existing MAFP Crisis Management Plan. Training the appropriate skill sets to each level the Management teams.
2.To act as the point of contact for all Crisis Management plans and responses, to act as the lead in the Crisis Management Advisory team, and as a pivotal point of expertise in the escalation and declaration process for serious incidents and Crisis.
3.Ensure clear roles and responsibilities are transferred to the appropriate persons in the organization and specifically that regional (outside UAE) Incident Management Teams are fully briefed, tested and supported by the Security function.
4.To periodically test the different aspects of the Crisis Management plan from Shopping Mall to Head Office and Crisis Team response.
5.Coordinate with Business Units and functions: HR, IT, Finance (Insurance) and Legal to ensure the appropriate response to all incidents which may require further support.
6.Provide induction, mentoring and training to the Malls Operation Managers on Crisis Management planning, reporting requirements and ensure the first level of response meets the requirements of the business.
7.Brief all persons as part of induction on travel security, threats and risks and travel security best practice ensure all people have access to International SOS contact centre, and what services they provide, with strong liaison with HR Business Partners and Comp and Benefits Manager.
8.Review the reporting of incidents and manage the consolidation and escalation of incidents scale and frequency by periodically reporting the same to Business Managers/Executive.
9.Operate closely and regularly with the Shopping Malls technical department to ensure the effective use of equipment and monitoring in the Malls and support the Fire, Health and Safety in reporting and reducing exposure to Fire, Health and Safety Risks.
10.Provide periodic reports to Mall Senior Management working with the matrix of country and Head office Management to recommend resolutions to shortfalls in the reporting or response mechanism of the Shopping Malls Teams.
11.Capability to analyse emerging risks and threats in country/location and report the same to the business in a timely manner, providing advice where required on country or travel security threats, working closely with the Country/regional teams.
12.Oversee the efficiencies and effectiveness of the security requirements for Malls working with the mall teams to achieve KPIs in the mall security operating procedures.
13.Represent MAFP security by networking with external providers and other Crisis Management practitioners to keep up to date with regional trends. Monitor local reporting from external sources and participate in the OSAC council of Dubai.
14.Provide the utmost integrity, cultural and ethical standards commensurate with a Security managers role.

Requirements

1. At least 10 years experience in the security field based in and around the Middle east region.
2. Management skills and the ability to relate to the complexities of managing threats and risks associated with operations in the region and the UAE.
3. University degree or equivalent experience in a security discipline, preferably with Military or Law Enforcement Crisis Management/Security skillset.
4. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and ability to effectively recommend best security practice and seek consensus and resolution.
5. Capability to work and network with local teams and third party (Police, military and Embassy staff) to establish the reliability of threat and risk analysis/trends.
6. Specific skills in training and educating others at all levels in Security and Crisis Management risks.
7. Capability to operate in a mature stature, and in multi-cultural, ethnic diversity.
8. Sound knowledge of Security Management Systems.
