Job description / Role
The purpose of this position is to supervise and lead a team of Security Officers to safeguard security on the Dubai Metro.
Key Job Responsibilities
Allocation and management of security resources;
Provide effective internal and external communications and information about security of the system and environment in an efficient and timely manner;
Implement security measures and procedures to meet the security requirements of Dubai Metro Undertake security inspections on a routine and ad hoc basis;
Assist Incident Investigators in gathering information and evidence whenever necessary;
Assist station staff in managing passengers’ behaviour including crowd control; and where necessary enforce, Dubai Metro By-law;
Meet and greet customers and provide a high level of customer service;
Perform shift and emergency duties when required;
Perform and carry out other duties as instructed / directed by the Security Manager or Operations Director;
Render all possible assistance to customers, in particular those with special needs, to enhance customer service and safety;
Report incidents and events that could affect the safety of the system;
Manage passengers’ behaviour in particular in crowded or emergency situations
Operate the fire and security equipment provided in the station, depots and auxiliary nuildings under instructions;
Assist the station operations staff, fire services and police department in dealing with incidents and emergencies such as crowd control and fire fighting;
Technical, Financial and People Accountabilities
Supervise and motivate security staff with an aim to meet the committed performance target of security operations
Requirements
Knowledge
High School education or a professional qualification in a related discipline;
Skills
Good English and Arabic communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;
Ability to allocate and supervise a team of Security Officers to provide the highest levels of security on the system and assurance to customers;
Ability to communicate effectively to the public and ability to follow instructions explicitly and to exercise judgment and act quickly in an emergency situation;
Ability to coordinate security activities and provide support in emergency and evacuation scenarios;
Highly motivated and flexibility to work in a time-sensitive environment to respond quickly and effectively to unanticipated high workloads, events and emergencies;
Experience
At least 2 years of experience in security of which at least 1 year of supervisory capacity;
Good knowledge and experience of handling security of people, property and cash preferably gained from transport or service company
