Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

My leading client is currently looking to recruit a Senior Accounts Team Leader for the Accounts Payable function sat within the shared service centre.

To be the custodian of the Accounts Payable function and ensure all financial transactions have been accurately recorded in books of accounts and are in line with the SLAs and the Financial policies of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the team and work closely with other FSS functions to ensure efficient operation of the Accounts Payable function.
• Monitor the control environment of the Accounts Payables function and ensure compliance
• Maintain day-to-day financial control in liability booking and payment processing function of Accounts Payables
• Track and ensure delivery as per the Service Level Agreement.
• Ensure integrity of financial, accounting and processing controls and compliance including reconciliations, journal entries etc.
• Monitor integrity between sub-systems and highlight discrepancies.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual closing for Accounts Payables activities.
• Discuss and agree sources of funds to be used for making payments (own funds, credit facilities, LC, forex covers etc) with Head Transaction Processing.
• Review processed Accounts Payables journal entries and sign-off the same.
• Review the overall accuracy and adequacy of transaction processing in the Accounts Payables function.
• Implement process and systems improvements across various functions within Finance Shared Services.
• Provide timely and accurate information to meet requirements of Customer Entities as per the agreed Service Level Agreement.

PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT

• Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles.

Requirements

Education/ Qualification

• Professional qualification in Accounting/Finance (CPA/CFA/CMA/ACA/MBA).
Experience
• 5 to 7 years relevant experience , with at least 2 years at a managerial / supervisory position
Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge
• Experience in handling finalization of accounts and should possess good working knowledge of IFRS
• Should be conversant with ERP functionalities
• Effective and strong communication skills
• Be KPI driven and process focused
• Ability to assist in the implementation of new systems; if required
