Hudson is pleased to be representing one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies in their search for a Senior Accountant within the Credit Management Team. Based in the Middle East, this position takes responsibility for the credit granting process, including the application of credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing and potential customers. The overall aim being to optimize collection of the organisation’s sales and mitigate risks of bad debt losses. Some key accountabilities include:
• Maintains credit policy and recommends changes to Financial management
• Provides assurance that adequate financial security is in place for all sales made prior to the loading of cargoes, provision of service or transfer of risk title.
• Analyse delinquent accounts and prepare reports on high risk accounts for
possible bad debts provision including recommendations for resolution and / or referral to Legal Dept. for legal action.
• Reviews terms and conditions of contract or agreements prior to approval to ensure credit risks are eliminated or mitigated.
• Managing relationships with the customers in order to reduce exposure to potential bad debt.
Requirements
The successful candidate will liaise regularly with customers to conduct negotiations and as such you will need to demonstrate critical thinking to apply the appropriate strategy and to resolve disputes. Excellent communications skills and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment is key.
Candidates must possess considerable experience within a similar role and hold one of the following to be considered: Masters in Finance / Commerce / Business / Accounting and / or CPA / CA / CIMA etc. Individuals must be willing to live in the Middle East and on offer is a full expatriate package including a tax-free basic salary plus housing, transport allowance, school fees paid and annual flights home.
