Employment: Full Time

Our client is a global institutional investor, managing an investment portfolio that is diversified across more than two dozen asset classes and sub-categories. With over 1600 employees from more than 60 nations, the institution has been prudently investing funds on behalf of the Government of Abu Dhabi since 1976. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a top tier institution that will provide the successful candidate with first class international experience.

They are looking for a Senior Accountant in Payments to join their team based here in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the detailed review of all payments to third parties and the reconciliation of accounts within the organizations policies, rules and regulations. Key responsibilities will include:

- Perform accurate and concise monitoring, controlling, reporting and analysis on financial information
- Preparation of financial statements, reports and statistical data as required
- Maintain sound financial policies and procedures
- Supervising the work of Accountants within Accounts Payable as required, providing support where needed and reporting back to section Manager with feedback
- Manage the process of creating the standard settlement instruction form to be set up in finance kit by RDM Section for all suppliers to be paid via the SWIFT system
- Ensure proper controls and safeguards are in place to protect the Fund's assets
- Prepare quarterly consolidated accounts
- Support the audit coordination and planning process as required
- Manage and develop key internal relationships with the Internal Audit and Accounts departments.
- Manage and develop key external relationships with Asset Managers, Bookkeepers, Trustees, Auditors and other relevant parties
- Support more senior colleagues in the preparation of Status Reports for presentation to Senior Management within the Department
- Understand the concepts and implications of legal, tax and due diligence frameworks.
- Work with a wide range of complex IT applications as related to Finance.

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Extensive relevant Accounting / Accounts Payable experience
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field
- Accounting qualification (CA, ACCA preferred)
- Proficient in the use of Oracle and ERP Systems
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Willing to relocate and work in Abu Dhabi
- Excellent attention to detail

The candidate will successfully motivate and propel the team forward to help ensure the smooth running of the Payments function.
