Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Provide expert financial modelling in the bidding environment, including analysis and proposals to enhance / improve the modelling process, templates and approach.

The role involves working within the Commercial team to provide dedicated, high quality commercial bid resource across all Business Units within the division.

Day to day this means working with bids teams to develop and populate cost models that satisfy internal governance requirements and allows the optimal pricing to be determined to provide to customers alongside our proposed technical solution for outsourced Contracts.

Key Accountability:

Strategy and Plans
- Developing and recommending enhancements to the current Bid Modelling process
- Deliver robust financial models to support the bidding activity across all business units within Serco ME by engaging with experts across the business
- Play a role in ensuring compliance across SME with Serco Group policy and standards relating to financial modelling
- Assist in developing and implementing financial modelling best practice across SME

Growth and Financials
- Work within bid teams to deliver financial models, costs, price and detailed scenario analysis for bids
- Assist in developing data manipulation capability beyond the modelling of financial data, in order to support emerging commercial propositions across the business
- Assist in the delivery of a cost effective model audit capability, and the implementation of a suite of pre-audited financial models for wider use across the contract base
- Exercise delegated authority over the approval of financial models, as required

Organisation and People
- Maintain expertise in financial reporting requirements
- Educate and train other members of the commercial team and the wider F&C community
- Contribute to discussions on Model outputs throughout the Bid Process to ensure understanding and compliance with modelled elements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must have a relevant Bachelor degree in accounting or Business Management with relevant professional financial qualification. Must have a strong intellect. Expert financial modelling ability / aptitude to develop expert bid financial modelling ability, expert excel skills / aptitude to develop. Has a capacity to handle demanding and fluctuating workload with thoroughness and attention to detail with a steadiness under pressure. Strong Communication skills to work with a range of people across the business. Team player with energy and tenacity.

Desirable to have an experience of effective working in bid teams, financial reporting expertise, use of statistical risk analysis tools and understanding of insurance, employment law etc.
