Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with a large, multi-disciplinary construction and design consultancy who is looking to hire a Senior Architect. You will be working alongside a well-established architectural and design team on mixed used commercial and retail projects. Our clients projects span across the Middle East and Europe and have been recognised for designing some of the most iconic buildings across the UAE covering the Hospitality, Retail and Commercial sectors.
You will be responsible for the junior members in the team checking all CAD drawings, design quality as well as the preparation of original designs and specifications. You will prepare high quality drawings for presentations, dealing with and appraising the clients concept, detail and schematic design including site follow up and coordinating any sub-contractors / site engineers. You will also assist and advocate training to junior members of the team, individually reporting to the head of department with updates on progress throughout on quality, design any changes. You will have the opportunity to job run from inception to completion.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have B Arch, M Arch or BSc Arch in Architecture or above with a minimum of 5 years experience working within the UAE and GCC region. You should be proficient and fluent in English and have excellent written and verbal skills alongside exceptional management and organisational skills. It is essential you have demonstrable recent experience in mixed used commercial and retail projects. You should have a proven ability to work with a number of software packages including Microstation, AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop as well as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
