Job description / Role
We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate senior-level Architect focused on design excellence to join our Doha office. In this role you will work closely with the Design Principal to oversee all design and technical aspects of the project from the schematic design phase through to contract administration. You will also assist the Project Manager with coordinating and managing the project team, consultants and the client.
Key Functions & Duties
• Works with technical staff to perform successful design development and produce contract documentation in alignment with Kasian’s standards of quality, client program, and budget needs including coordinating project specifications.
• Carry out overall architectural design coordination of the project, from schematic design and through to contract administration, utilizing the project team and other resources within the firm.
• Integrate and coordinate all related disciplines into the project.
• Work with the Project Manager to develop and implement the Quality Assurance Plan for the project.
• Research and determine what construction materials and methods are to be used in the building project.
• Maintain communication with the Project Team and keep the team up to date on any decisions that may affect the design, schedule, consulting fees, or construction budget.
• Attend site meetings and field reviews.
• Properly maintain project records.
• Participate in the peer review process for Kasian projects.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff.
Requirements
• Recognized degree in Architecture coupled with a minimum of 10+ years of architectural experience.
• “Grade A” Architect registration with the Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA).
• Fluent in English is required.
• Fluency in Arabic is considered an asset.
• Capable of providing leadership in all aspects of project delivery.
• Excellent understanding and experience in all phases of a project.
• Strong technical background in AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
• Excellent time management and teamwork skills.
• Effective written and oral communications skills.
• Detailed knowledge of applicable building codes and by-laws.
• Advanced knowledge of construction practices.
