Senior Architect

Job description / Role

Charterhouse is working with a multidisciplinary and multinational architectural, planning, design and engineering company that has been operating for over 4 decades from the Middle East. Our client is looking to hire a Senior Architect to join the Design Team in their headquarters in Kuwait.

The primary focus of this role will be to assist the Head of Design in executing architectural designs from project initiation to closure and deadlines as well as budgets, quality requirements and contract obligations in order to fulfill client requirements. You will ensure that the design intent is maintained throughout the project lifecycles. You will also assist in future development, operations and strategy of the team.

Along with Project Managers, you will develop briefs on costs and resources, establishing teams and client approval. You will also conduct interviews with clients to confirm their requirements, obtaining additional information and ensuring that all design facets of the projects are correctly scoped. You will coordinate with other Architects and Engineers throughout project lifecycles, developing and designing multiple concept design alternatives for the client. You will assist Project Managers in obtaining design approval from the client, assist in cost estimation for concept design, deal with the authorities and assist contractors and the Site Architect to ensure the smooth running of the project. You will provide on-the-job training to Draftsman and less experienced Architects in the team, maintaining and recruiting an efficient, motivated team.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have a Bachelors Degree in Architecture coupled with certification from the Kuwait Society of Engineers. You should have a minimum of 10 years experience as an Architect in the construction industry and possess knowledge of all aspects of design, sustainable technologies and authority regulations in Kuwait. It is essential you have Kuwait experience. Our client has expressed a preference for a candidate from Western Europe or the neighbouring regions of Egypt and Lebanon.
