Senior Architectural Designer

Our client is a leading Saudi Arabian consultancy and an integrated project management and Architectural Engineering firm. The company is involved in many prestigious projects in Saudi. Due to an increased work load they are more seeking to employ a Senior Architectural Designer to be engaged on a number of Medical and Educational projects.

Responsibilities:
- To coordinate projects activities as per customer/clients requirements.
- To translate clients and end-users requirements into concept designs.
- To make conceptual and preliminary design.
- To follow up with assigned external designers for the submission on proper time.
- To follow up with Government Authorities for Project Approval and permit.
- To make design review.
- To coordinate with other designs disciplines.
- To inspect site construction works and approve designs submitted by contractors.
- Monitor the progress of consultants and contractors and suppliers involved in all time-bound project elements, ensuring strict adherence to approved standards. take appropriate corrective actions whenever significant variations are identified.
- Contribute and coordinate design and construction project management / supervision activities ensuring that client interests are fully protected and optimized.
- Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of construction activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/services
- Ensure that the project(s) are constructed according to Scope of Work (SOW), Drawings & Technical Specifications of the design and construction contracts.
- Review contract documents for Customer requirements and execute the design works within its scope.
- Manage resources (Designers, Consultants, etc.) to achieve contract completion within budget and time.
- Material selection and approval
- Familiar with Authorities guidelines and regulations (MODO, Municipality etc.).
- Inspect performed works at site.
- Review of As-built drawings issued by contractors.

Requirements

- Degree qualified minimum requirement of B.Arch, or M.Arch
- 10 year experience in Architectural Design
- Experience in KSA Projects and Market.
- Experience in design of educational, commercial and hospitality projects.
- Experience in supervising and executing projects in design and execution phase.
- Well versed in preparing, reviewing specifications, scope of work and BOQ etc.
- Experience in preparing, reviewing and approving drawings of different submittals and Materials.
- Awareness of all internal and governmental design codes and standards
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English essential
- Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary design team
- Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way.
