Job description / Role
Responsibilities will include the development of architectural designs for a variety of building types, including residential, commercial, corporate and mixed use developments, from initial concept and preliminary design to final design and tender documentation level. The appointment will entail acting in a leadership role to provide direction and guidance to intermediate and junior architects.
Requirements
Interested candidates will have a Bachelors degree in Architecture, be RIBA or AIA qualified, and possess a solid track record of working for consultancies and/or Architectural practices, ideally some of which in the Middle East. A thorough knowledge of all aspects of the building design process, including in-depth knowledge of architectural construction materials, their application as well as knowledge of construction detailing and the preparation of design documentation, including schedules and specifications is essential. An understanding of the engineering requirements of projects and the coordination of these into the architectural design are also essential aspects of the position. Candidates must be conversant with international codes and standards for building design and be familiar with quality assurance/quality control procedures applicable to a design office.
