Job Description

This world class leading Bank has a role in our Retail Clients Global Internal Audit Team in the newly created Segments area. This covers Business Clients, Analytics, Priority and International and Personal and Preferred Banking. The emphasis for this role will be on Business Clients segment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

To perform and lead internal audit engagements of Segments to provide ongoing assurance over the effectiveness of the design and implementation of controls. Deliver the audit plan established in conjunction with the Functional and Country Audit Teams.

1. Act as liaison with Management to ensure full understanding of business strategy, plans, products, performance and risk-related issues at business unit level and communicating these to the relevant Functional Team members. This is a particular area of focus given the creation of the Business Clients segment from the previous SME in core markets.

2. Perform, support or lead where directed, the planning, fieldwork, and reporting of internal audit engagements to deliver agreed assurance objectives to established standards and timelines.

3. Provide non-assurance services to business units where required, through participation on advisory engagements / special projects within the Group.

4. Where undertaking the role of Team Leader, provide interim performance feedback to team members.

5. Share knowledge, skills and experience with team members to guide and assist in their development.

6. To identify and escalate significant issues.

7. Reporting to Head of Audit - Retail Clients portfolio.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

1. Experienced internal auditor, risk professional or business practitioner who is a deep subject matter expert in Retail Clients and specifically Business Clients / SME

2. Accounting / Audit qualification preferred (including e.g. ACA, ACCA, IIA)

3. Effective written and presentation skills

4. Strong communicator with an ability to influence

5. Highly credible with their counterparts in the business

6. Up to date with developments within their area of expertise

7. Ability to work with minimal direction

8. Demonstrates understanding of and commitment to the Group's core values

9. Ability to commit to up to 40% business travel
