The RoleThe RoleA leading investment bank in the Middle East has kicked off a Greenfield Murex 3.1 Project across FX, MM, FI and Interest Rate Derivatives with a plan to cover all asset classes in the foreseeable future. This initiative is a full front to back implementation, with Murex being the chosen enterprise solution for all trading activity. There is a need to build up the project team in-house, with an immediate requirement for a Senior business analyst with extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of operations. The candidate will work within the Wholesale Operations Department but will form part of a project team consisting of workstream leaders and business analysts, developers and consultants through the full lifecycle of the project. Key Skills: 8+ years experience working on projects in support of Operations for either Capital Markets or Treasury businesses. Experience having worked for or at a top 10 global Investment banks in either North America or Europe as well as having worked in Emerging Markets. Knowledge of FX, MM and IRS products. Knowledge of both vanilla derivatives as well of the more structure products is required across the above asset classes. Must be conversant with business processes modeling and with the workflow and the operational processes required in support the above mentioned asset classes. Experience working in an operations Change management department developing Target operating models delivering operational improvement desirable. Significant specific experience working on IT Projects implementing Transactions processing, Settlements and Cash Management systems for Investment banks. Specific systems experience working on Murex or on Summit or Calypso (Murex preferred). Experience with structured test planning and execution, developing test scripts and expected results. Experience working on project Migrating from legacy systems to new platforms and with the Data quality and conversion testing also required. Candidates will be required to have both undergraduate and post graduate qualifications. Candidates with experience working in Consulting firms will be advantageous. |
RequirementsRequirementsProvide support for the BO/Operations Project Manager Analysis and Documentation of user requirements and transpose into Functional Specifications to hand off to Technology teams and vendors. Validation of functional requirements and designs with IT or with the systems vendor. Definition of the accounting Rules for all relevant accounting events for the range of products specified above. Rationalise Reporting requirements across operations move to a significantly paper dependency . Key coordination and liaison with FO, MO and Operations. Assist with the creation of test plans, test cases and test scripts for all test phases of a project. Perform Systems Assurance testing and assist with UAT. Assist with data migration exercises from existing application to Murex and Intellect during initial project phases. Assist in the revisions to policy, Process and Procedures and secure certification from eth Central PPPD control department. Training existing operations staff and transfer all necessary knowledge acquired during the life of the project. Potential Contract Options Temporary/Contract - to secure requisite skills in the shortest time but risk of knowledge loss after the project Temporary to Permanent - to secure requisite skills in the shortest time and to secure the candidate after say 6 months avoiding short term delay Permanent - secure requisite skills from the outset, could result in delays if qualified candidates cannot be found The candidate should have a strong understanding of the phases involved in a project life cycle and strong interpersonal, numeracy and computer literacy skills.
