Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Created from the integration of three companies - Oman Refineries and Petrochemicals Company LLC (ORPC), Aromatics Oman LLC (AOL) and Oman Polypropylene (OPP) - Orpic is one of Oman`s largest companies and is one of the most rapidly growing businesses in the Middle East`s oil industry.

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to be responsible for the following:

- Facilitation with functions and personal work that will result in delivery of the strategy and annual business plan cycle by all leaders using best practices.
- Work effectively with assigned functions by using approved standardized tools and methodologies for assisting business in continuous improvement, decision making and course correction such as MIS
- Conduct complex and multifaceted study and analysis of business trends, performance of assets, identify initiatives etc in order to enhance the performance of the assigned functions
- Benchmarking of department / function performance against industry standards and synthesize findings.
- To have the capability to design, develop financial / economic models to find solutions to business issues / challenges or for project financing
- Facilitate development of KPIs for assigned functions and their departments and ensure alignment of Functional and department KPIs
- Work with Function Heads to support preparations of business planning by personal work and facilitation.
- Manage specific projects assigned in order to ensure that goals, objectives and targets are met that would support the overall achievement of departmental objectives. This would included tasks / assignments provided on adhoc basis as per the requirements of Orpic.
- Contribute in the decision making of the unit through participation in meetings and planning in order to capitalize experiences and business intelligence gathered.
- Cross functional integrated management of performance for assigned functions through measurement of KPIs, identifying gaps, facilitate / recommend mitigation measures
- Critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, de-composing high-level information into details, abstracting up from low-level information to a general understanding. Distinguishing user requests from underlying true needs
- Develop new database structures and work with Business Analyst to ensure such database is regularly updated for management reporting
- Assess financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.

Requirements

- University degree in Engineering/ Finance/ Economics/ Business or equivalent (Required).
- Professional certifications such as CMA/ CIMA or equivalent accreditation or MBA
- Minimum experience required is 8 years (with Professional certification) and 10 years ( without professional certification)
- Exposure to Oil and Gas industry shall be preferred.

Skills:
- Leadership skills, ability to influence peers and senior managers, interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation
