To lead and manage the delivery of medium to low complexity organization or group wide strategic programs for COO Office. To support in execution and rollout of other complex strategic engagements, Provide day to day support to Head Business Management & COO in executing strategic, operational & financial responsibilities. Helps in operationalising & track the strategic agenda, plans and scorecard for BSG.

Key Accountabilities:

Delivery of strategic programs
- Lead organization or group wide strategic medium * to low complexity programs for the COO office end to end (* Medium engagement would be anywhere between AED 5 10 Mln, staff impacted 100-300. These are transformational / strategic change engagements and technology implementations which follow a specific life cycle. Strategic change initiatives involve a much higher degree of executive stakeholder alignment to even start and thereafter ensuring continuing success of the program. The challenges are unique and involve a much greater degree of effort to have staff accept these changes).
- Support the execution and rollout of organisation or group wide complex * strategic engagements for COO office. (*Complex engagement could be budget of AED 10 Million & above or strategic impact of the change on the no. of units / staff getting impacted could be more than 300. These are transformational / strategic change engagements and technology implementations which follow a specific life cycle. Strategic change initiatives involve a much higher degree of executive stakeholder alignment to even start and thereafter ensuring continuing success of the program. The challenges are unique and involve a much greater degree of effort to have staff accept these changes).
- Work closely with senior executive stakeholders to ensure alignment of program objectives
- Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships and regular communication with various business units.
- Acts as a contact point and communication channel with various functional units
- Manage senior cross functional teams and ensure timely delivery against objectives
- Identify and resolve potential risks to the program
- Adopt project management procedures and best practices
- Tracking and report progress to senior executive stakeholders as per established governance

Supervise & monitor project performance, budgets and schedules for assigned projects
- Contribute to the development of project performance and proactively identify areas for corrective action by reviewing on a timely basis
- Interface with external stakeholders such as Consultants, Vendor representatives
- Conduct project closure activities to formalise project acceptance, handover to accountable teams and complete a post implementation review & benefits assessment to identify areas of improvement

Direct support to COO Office
- Provide help in setting up the COO office
- Provide overall support to Head Business Management in executing strategic and operational responsibilities
- Provide support in managing the Business support Group functional units.

Work with the various BSG units to establish improvement areas, identify actions and track implementation of the same
- Undertakes bespoke analysis to provide insight on key focus areas.
- Track, review and provide insights into various implementations happening in COO area. Advise course correction & work with relevant functional units (as required) to ensure implementation and achievement of objectives
- Support Head Business Management & COO in tracking, follow up, and resolution of key issues

Strategy & Planning for Business Support Group
- Work with Head Business Management & BSG units in developing the strategic agenda and plans for Business Support Group
- Identify alignment, synergy and coordination between strategic plans of various units
- Translate the strategic plans into operational plans and provide support as required to effectively drive the performance of various BSG units.
- Track the rollout and execution of the strategic agenda
- Prepare the annual budget for COO Office. Ensure consistency between budgets and the overall strategic plans.
- Conduct financial & operational analysis & review to support the planning process

Scorecard Management
- Working with COO, Head Business Management, BSG Functional heads and strategy team, establishes the scorecard for BSG functional heads
- Ensure Linkage of BSG strategies and scorecards to corporate strategy
- Monitor performance of BSG units & COO vis a vis their scorecard. Suggest and track corrective actions

Financial oversight & governance
- Monitor costs and other financial goals assigned to the COO & head business management
- Analyse and recommend cost optimisation initiatives
- Manage & track implementation of cost optimization initiatives towards target achievement
- Establish reporting of key indicators for Business Support Group and ensure it is published on an agreed periodic basis

Stakeholder management
- Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships and regular communication with Functional heads and their Direct reports
- Work closely with senior executive stakeholders to ensure alignment & achievement of key objectives
- Manage third party relationships with relevant Consultants & Vendor representatives on a day to day basis

FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:
- The position reports to the Head Business Management, COO Office and confers with the latter on critical issues.
- Key decisions having impact on business are referred to Head Business management or other business / functional heads for approval before implementation
- Undertakes day to day decisions with regards to delivering the strategic programs and for running the COO office

- Any other functional department as required

External:
- Consultants & Suppliers

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS):
- Accountable for organization wide or BSG group wide medium to low complexity initiatives & strategic programs that need to be centrally driven from COO office
- On time and on budget delivery of strategic change programs
- Timely and quality delivery on analysis & actions required to be undertaken to support Head Business management & COO in delivering their responsibilities
- Translate and cascade the strategic goals into actionable items via Balance scorecard
- Timely tracking and communication of delivery against goals, provide recommended action plans to ensure achievement is in line with stated target
- Adherence to policies, processes, and procedures of Group

Requirements

- Bachelors Degree in Business Management or any related discipline with preferably an MBA
- 7-10 years of experience in the banking industry with atleast 3 years of change management or strategy experience
- Strong banking and financial industry background
- Good understanding of change management for banking sector
- Good cross functional knowledge
- Experience of working with senior executives under pressure situation
- Good interpersonal, negotiation, verbal, and written communications skills
- A good team player, collaborative, adaptable and open-minded
- Ability to analyse and assimilate information quickly and translate into meaningful actions
- Detail oriented
- Knowledge of English
