Job description / Role
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead cross-functional teams in design and implementation of category sourcing strategies.
• Lead supplier selection and negotiation process.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
• Develop and manage suppliers for contract compliance and ongoing performance improvement opportunities.
• Provide best-in-class expertise in assigned spend categories
• Identify and communicate new technologies and solutions.
• Ensure all agreements are in place and catalogs are updated for every category within spend portfolio.
• Drive annual value improvements for categories.
• Forecast budgetary impact and track actual savings.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure savings are incorporated into annual operating plans.
• Work closely with functional stakeholder teams and suppliers to ensure effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans.
• Assess current and future supply needs within category.
• Work with appropriate engineering and site representatives to ensure adequate spec documentation and determine proper spec owner.
• Understand market trends, supplier base, and supplier economics for category.
• Follow sourcing best practices and policies as defined by Procurement Excellence.
• Monitor business unit satisfaction with key suppliers and support resolution of issues.
• Remain current with market trends and internal customer needs through relationships with suppliers and market experts.
• Monitor field compliance to strategy implementation and ensure TCO reductions are realized.
• Assist in development of procurement skills, tools and capabilities at the local level.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain or Business discipline
Minimum Experience:
• 7+ years of related professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Functional Knowledge:
• Strong working knowledge and experience with MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word and Pivot tables)
• Technology savvy and ease of use for procurement and production software tools such as ERP systems (ex. SAP, SharePoint).
