Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Guides end users in finalizing the scope of work,specifications,bill of quantities and special terms and conditions.
- Conduct a high level scrutiny of the MRs received and assign to buyers based on the nature of item and workload.
- Review Material Requisitions (MR) for completeness, correctness and clarity and liaise with the end user for amendments or additional information if required.
- Liaises with the Warehouse Department for Item coding , classification and cataloging.
- Keep abreast with latest market information on the new products, processes and suppliers and maintain up-to-date reference database.
- Implement best tendering method, appropriate for the material/service.
- Recommend the most appropriate purchase methods for the critical high value purchases.
- Prepares RFQ, obtains Quotations,makes evaluations and recommends supplier.
- Prepares submissions to Tender Committee and liaises with them during tendering process.
- Coordinate with suppliers for the items/services.
- Conducts first level of negotiation with the supplier for terms and price.
- Coordinate with Warehousing Department regarding to the purchased items to ensure the correct item and amount are delivered on time and as requested.
- Receives Receipt Exception Report (RER) from receiving section and initiates corrective action for closing of RER.
- Establish commercial evaluation criteria and conduct commercial evaluations.
- Assist in the evaluation of supplier performance against the set KPI's and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Participates in vendor performance evaluation.
- Establish annual procurement plan.

Requirements

- Must have a Degree in Business or any relevant qualification
- CIPS certification is an advantage
- Candidate must have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Candidate must be based in Doha with a transferable visa and NOC.
