Job description / Role
Our client is a leading global operator with offices in over 10 countries and worldwide oilfield projects. We are looking to recruit a Senior Buyer into a permanent position to be based in Doha with the successful candidate be tasked with procurement for a number of technically challenging exploration projects.
The successful candidate will be tasked with the following activities:
- Manage the approval of requisitions, purchase orders and sourcing of materials
- Maximize value through product evaluation and competitive bidding
- Coordination relationship with suppliers to include negotiation and assessment of supplier performance
- Resolve disputes arising with suppliers concerning quality, price and delivery.
- Optimise price agreements use of price agreements including coordinate with group supply chain practices
- Carry out periodic spend analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and development of best practices

Requirements
To be considered for this position you will posses the following skills:
- B.S. degree is required.
- 5 years minimum experience in a similar role.
- The incumbent must have a good understanding of purchasing law, company policies and procedures, authority limitations.
- Good knowledge about oilfield related materials and equipment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, be a team player.
