Employment: Full Time

We are currently looking for an experienced CAD Technician/Highways Designer with at least 10 years experience to join our Strategic Transport Business in the Middle East

The Technician will be a qualified professional with a minimum of 10 years experience. With a very strong working knowledge of GCC Highway Design Practices.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Certificates in CAD
This role requires working on a variety of transport planning/access studies – large scale transport masterplan assessments as well as traffic impact studies for multi-disciplinary planning projects in the public and private sectors. Working closely with Project Managers and other planning department staff to ensure timely completion of the necessary drawings, reports and plans as assigned.

Essential:

Must have a minimum of 10 years in CAD as well as regional highway design
Understanding of transportation planning, highway access planning, road and interchange designs and public transport issues.
Experience in designing and ‘working up’ appropriate road layouts to assist transport solution
Project experience in the Middle East and familiarity with local trends and Highway design practices and standards
Competence with Microsoft Office suite of software
Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both written and spoken
Must be able to learn and retain new skills quickly from a variety of sources
Must be able to work with limited supervision
Some experience of people and team management
Competence to assist in growing the Atkins Transport Planning Business as well as to sell Atkins services generally
Must be familiar with working to Quality Assured Systems
Must be willing to travel internationally
Experience with highway design softwares such as MX, Microstation

Desirable:

Capable of communicating in Arabic effectively, both written and spoken
Contribute to preparation of transport planning reports including drawings, development of solutions
