Senior Claims Consultant - Quantum

Job description / Role

A Senior Claims Consultant- Quantum is needed to join a dynamic dispute consultancy organisation that is growing fast in Hong Kong.

Live projects currently include major MTR stations construction projects, major railway lines and road/highway projects. All these projects are subjects to delay, claims and require supplementary agreements or formal claims for entitlement

Job Duties
- Liaise with Delay Analyst to understand the delays to incorporate into the claim document
- To act as an expert for quantum dispute matters
- Produce good quality claims documents independently
- Research and interrogate site based records and communications to establish the factual matrix of an event and writing it up
- Identify and calculate the additional direct cost incurred with claim events and prolongation costs for extension of time
- Liaise with the delay analysis planner -liaise with the project team to understand the events and the costs
- Assist with extension of time claims preparation & advice
- Advise on preambles interpretation & missing item disputes.

Requirements

- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is essential
- MRICS qualified or equivalent is highly desirable
- Additional qualifications such as an MSc in construction Law or MCIArb would be an advantage
- Experienced construction professional with at least 10 years claims experience
- Extensive experience in rail infrastructure and highways projects
- Proven track record of Dispute Resolution experience in Hong Kong or in the UK or elsewhere in the world
- Proven record in producing good quality claims documents
- Experience of having worked as a claims consultant for major international contractors on major projects is highly desirable
- Geotechnical engineering qualifications and experience would be a but not a necessity
- Fluent in spoken and written English is essential
- Works independently
- Good communication skills to liaise with different parties
