Senior Commercial Manager - Retail Buildings - UAE

With over $180billion of contracts for new construction projects to be awarded in wealthy Gulf states this year, the largest amount for six years, if youve been thinking of making the move, or returning back, to the region, now it the time to make it happen!

AustCorp are currently representing one of the worlds leading consultancies providing project and programme management services for construction and engineering projects.

Active in the Middle East for almost 20 years, they have been on hand to deliver some of the regions most recognised and challenging construction projects, drawing on their global resources and expertise.

Now, with significant high profile retail projects secured, they are looking for an experienced new build Senior Commercial Manager to join the business, based either in Dubai or Abu Dhabi

The Senior Commercial Manager is responsible for the management of financial functions of the commercial team. Examples of accountabilities:
- Supervising the performance of the quantity surveying to ensure quality and timeliness in delivery
- Preparing tender/bid evaluations and recommendations in coordination with the QS and construction managers.
- Ensuring that all stakeholders, such as administration, operations, and finance understand and adhere to contractual obligations; and reflecting them accurately in forecast.
- Preparation of estimates.
- Quantifying and estimating costs for all proposed variations / change orders.
- Client facing and leading commercial meetings.
- Monthly cost reporting and presentations.
- Dispute resolution participation.

Requirements

- Degree qualified from the relevant field (MRICS or AQS preferred)
- Must possess 15-20 years of total experience in commercial/cost management
- Possess good new build construction project experience particularly within retail malls, shopping centres etc
- Pre-contract experience is essential
- Ideally worked with a project management/engineering consultancy environment
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills consistent with high end business development and client interfacing responsibilities
- Proven English language technical writing ability and skills.
