Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Costing Accuracy
- Coordinate with logistic, warehousing and production all activities related to item master update, BOMS and Routing
- Provide business insight on product cost flux, product loss and SKU variances
- Coordinate with Chief Accountant fixed asset validation efforts
- Ensure proper cost tracking for overheads, raw material and labor
- Ensure accurate cost element allocation to each product and category
- Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual cost reporting to management
- Regular visits to production floor and verification of receipts, shipping and scrap
- Coordinate with intercompany/affiliates product movements, freight and record in-transit inventory
- Receive and review daily report from production and ensure this agrees with invoicing
- Enter goods returns are updated properly in SAP
- Monitor scrap, quality loss and returns
- Ensure all costing activities for goods received, produced or in-transit are reflected correctly in the GL and Subledgers
- Drive automations and coach no financial professionals with best practices
- Monitor GRIR, freight and expense accruals
- Perform item master monthly audits/reviews

• Inventory Accuracy
- Ensure that quantities ordered in the pipeline are not more than the average stock holding capacity (as per agreed norms). Keep a track on pricing of products by comparing with the last quoted pricing from the suppliers and suggest the department
- Analyze any variances between the quantity ordered in the purchase order and accrual received. Report this variance to the chief accountant, department and ensure a prompt action by the vendor or transporter.
- Maintain and update the stock cards and master list of items. Ensure to conduct a periodic review and validation check for codes and description of all non-active items.
- Supervise inventory at an overall level for various purposes, like, cycle count, wall-to-wall count, segregation of the inventory and disposal procedures.
- Conduct planned and ad-hoc inventory audits for all inventories for all locations in UAE. Ensure to conduct a physical count against the entries in the books.
- Drive monthly cycle counting and semi-annual physical inventory count
- Ensure proper inventory cut-offs

• Managing Risks
- Run the inventory aging report and compute the monthly provision. Monitor the adequacy of the reserve towards the aged inventory.
- Monitor near-expiry items and obsolete items in accordance with corporate policies. Generate a report for the use of the management on such inventory items, proposed liquidation plan. If approved, execute the proposed plan and adjust the books accordingly.

• Other Activities
- Coordinate and work closely with the customs clearance unit and logistic to establish the landed costs for all received goods and update the system accordingly.
- Process all transactions related to the inventory such as adjustments, transfers and monitoring of returns.
- Reconcile the inventory sub-ledgers with the main ledger accounts. Highlight in the reconciliation and pending transactions and ensure to take action in the following months.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports for the divisions with the total inventory levels and projections.
- Prepare and submit such other reports as may be requested for submission to the Chief Accountant or the Finance Manager.
