Senior Database Administrator
The Senior Database Administrator installs, maintains, and administers the company's data, databases and database management systems. The Senior Database Administrator develops database standards and procedures to ensure optimum database performance. The Senior Database Administrator also manages user access, data integrity and data security and manages capacity for all production systems and end-user computing needs. On direction and at the discretion of the department head The Senior Database Administrator may be asked to direct other members of the DBA team - however - from a management perspective the senior DBA title is related more towards technical skill levels than management skill levels.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent.
MCDBA and OCP Certification preferred
6 years of experience as Senior Database Administration in Oracle RDBMS 10g/11g and Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 in 24x7 production environment (10 years of experience if Diploma holder).
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality and privacy
Thorough knowledge of Oracle RDBMS 10g/11g and Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 environments.
Experience in Oracle 11g Exadata and Exalogic.
Hands on Experience in Oracle 10g/11g Real Application Clusters RAC and Oracle 10g/11g Data Guard and Hands on Experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Clustering.
Strong knowledge of Oracle Database Performance Tuning and using stats pack, ADDM, AWR.
Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of database internals and data structures
Plans for and coordinates software upgrades and the installation of database products
Strong Knowledge of Database Backup and recovery using RMAN and logical backups.
Strong Knowledge of OEM /Oracle Grid for 10g/11g.
Strong database development skills on SQL, PLSQL and TSQL scripting.
Proficiency in database administration, prospect and constituent management, data imports and exports, developing reports
