The RoleThe RoleOur client, a well respected public works authority for the country of Qatar, is looking to immediately recruit 4 qualified and experienced Senior Design Engineers - Mechanical to participate in the growth and development of the business. With the practical completion of Qatar's comprehensive national master plan, the state is about to embark on a major infrastructure construction campaign which will see project design and construction activity as well as job opportunities continue to grow for years to come. Reporting to the Design Manager and working as part of the Building Affairs team, your responsibilities in the role will include: - Technical investigations and the preparation of feasibility reports for new projects. - He should be able to independently formulate project specifications and advise budget estimates...etc. - Conduct audits and develop reporting procedures to monitor the progress of a selection of design projects with regards to the achievement of milestones, optimisation of costs, achievement of project objectives and to highlight any areas of concern. - Monitor the quality of service delivery and continual improvement process to achieve optimal productivity, service and quality. - Assist in the planning and delegation of work relating to the design of a selection of projects. - Assist in reviewing, monitoring and managing the progress and work of EPCM partners in accordance with project specifications and expectations. - Implement and maintain design control procedures including the development of a set of key performance indicators, design standards and expectations, and benchmark criteria in order to evaluate the quality of design work conducted in house, by consultants or the EPCM partner. - Communicate and interpret these standards and criteria to all concerned parties. - Assist in managing the relationships and contracts with design partners external to the business, evaluating performance and handling variations and areas of concern. - Assist in monitoring, evaluating and endorsing the EPCM partner's design plans, specifications and cost estimates across a range of infrastructure projects. |
RequirementsRequirementsEssential attributes include: - Degree in Science in Mechanical Engineering with at least 15 years experience in designing, testing, commissioning and supervision of A/C, fire fighting, plumbing, irrigation and drainage. - Have at least 5 years experience working in a consultant's office and should be able to independently control and supervise a design team. - Have a working knowledge of International Codes of Standards. - Will possess a services background with proven record of having worked on the design & execution of major projects. - Should be capable of handling the design of large sized HVAC plants based on Chilled Water Systems, Central Split and Package Air conditioning An expatriate package and relocation assistance will be provided to attract the top candidates to the role.
