Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Techncial Group (TG) unit has been established as the Engineering and Technical organisation for Borouge, which is mainly based in Ruwais. TG as the Engineering and Technical Services organisation and has business process ownership of Asset Integrity; Process Safety Management; Inspection; Project Engineering, Delivery (value up to $50 million) and Execution; Technical Authority Governance and Support; and Asset Development. Additionally, TG is the custodian of the Company Technical Standards and Procedures.

Reporting to the Design Office Team Leader under the Design Department in the Technical Services Function, you will be part of The Techncial Group (TG)and your responsibilities will include:

To summarize the general task of the role, you will execute the Design & detailing for Electrical & Instrumentation engineering. Overall responsible to produce Instrumentation / Electrical discipline design & detail engineering solutions for critical and complex designs for the different stages of the project like pre-study, feasibility study, cost estimations, engineering deliverables as per requested CRs & PMPs design in accordance with Borouge General Specifications (BGS), international codes & standards, technical specification which complies with Borouge HSEQ requirements.

Additionally prepare, review and updates Borouge procedure related to design, drafting and modelling aspects in accordance with the latest available technology, standards and experience gained through previous projects lesson learned.

This role is involved in providing technical guidance, support & supervision to Engineering Designers & Design Draftsman to develop detail engineering deliverables for small to medium scale in-house expansions projects in addition to perform independently all design & detail engineering activities to maintain & update engineering application databases SPI, PDS, SPEL & 2D Microstation CADD files etc. which includes Inst. Index, Specifications, loop drawings, hook ups, I/O schedules, Cable schedules, cable terminations, Instrument Location Plan / Layout, Single Line diagrams & other instrumentation & electrical engineering deliverables for In-house Plant modification Projects (PMP) deliverables for TS, AD & PMP Engineers review & feedback.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma (HND or HNC) with equivalent experience or Vocational training Certification with equivalent experience.
- Should have strong working experience in the field of Petrochemical plant or Oil / Gas plants relevant detail engineering development.
- Must have essential training Certification of Engineering development applications like SPI, 3D-PDS & Smart plant products etc.
- 8 years of working experience & hands on experience in SPI & Smart plant products with EPC & O/O companies in the field of Oil / Gas / Petrochemical Industry.
- Familiar with general Instrumentation / Electrical Design practices and Standards. Also familiar with international codes / standards ASTM, ANSI, DIN, ISO etc.
- Strong discipline knowledge of Instrumentation / Electrical engineering design development to provide cost effective solution for the business development & familiar with other engineering interface disciplines i.e. Mechanical/ Piping, Civil / Structure
- Hands on experience in engineering and design applications 3D-PDS, SPI & Smart plant products, often related to a specific engineering discipline i.e. SPI (Smartplant instrumentation), Smart Plant PID (SP PID), Smart Plant Review (SPR) / Navisworks, 2D CADD Microstation, Documentum for Electronic Data Management System (EDMS), Office packages (Word, Excel, Power point & MS Access).
- Fluent in English (Written / Spoken)
- High ethical standards and good communication skills
- Proven ability to work as an effective team player
- Working experience in multicultural / multinational environment
- High degree of computer literacy
