Employment: Full Time

Job Objective:

Performs advanced, complex district cooling engineering assignments using convention or innovative engineering techniques and analyses. At this level, the Engineer is fully proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Responsible to implement the project quality plan and quality procedures and productivity related to all District Cooling works in accordance with program of work on construction site. Assists in defining the process for execution of engineering activities related to all types of District cooling systems; both plant and distribute; and to identify the need for specialty assistance.

Key Accountabilities:

• Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
• Review concept and detailed District Cooling system designs independently and manage the progress of the District Cooling.
• System design, procurement, construction and installation processes.
• Performs complex engineering tasks of design check for the Chillers, cooling towers pumps and fare knowledge of PLC and SCADA system. Particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
• Oversees the preparation of contract drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Regularly interfaces with other engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
• Reviews contract drawings, specifications and other procurement materials that have been prepared by others and provides comments on the results of the reviews.
• Review Designer’s specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
• Provides technical guidance to CAD designer/drafters, designers and engineers working on the same project.
• Understands all related codes and their application to the project; and overseas/manages the interface with local agencies and authorities to coordinate design standards usage and monthly approvals’ process.
• Act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
• Maintains awareness of the project HVAC and DCS specifications (NFPA, ASHARE and BS), drawings and design criteria.
• Provides regular reports on progress to the District Cooling Manager; and needs for additional or specialty staffing.

Requirements

Experience and Qualification:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering field.
• 12 years of related work experience with at least 6 years in comparable position in the GCC.
• GCC experience is a must.
• Construction of large industrial or infrastructure projects highly preferred. Hands - on expertise are essential in the design and installation of all major mechanical, electrical, BMS and SCADA systems associated with District Cooling and District Cooling plant components like: Chillers, Cooling towers, Pumps, Heat exchangers, Pre insulated piping system, Thermal energy storage and SCADA systems.
• Fluent in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent reporting, presentation, interpersonal and administration skills with track record of taking the lead in challenging situations.
• Commercially aware and familiar with contract documentation and its implementation.
