Job description / Role
This is a rock blasting firm specialising in providing rock blasting services for utilities, site work, road cuts, marine blasting, mines and quarries. Their services include quarry shot service, rock blasting, contract drilling, road cuts, utility blasting, site work, precision controlled rock blasting, etc.
The Senior Drill and Blast Engineers are expected to lead the drill and blast team, overseeing the planning and designing of the drill and blast patterns, liaise with suppliers and contractors to optimize drilling and blasting operations and ensure design objectives are met. Monitoring and reconciling blast performance against planning and look for ways to continuously improve. Ensure that drill and blasting operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner. Supervise and mentor the Drill and Blast team.
Requirements
Ideally have a Degree or Diploma qualifications in Mining Engineering, experience in open cut operations in a drill and blast capacity and mining and blasting software, with an analytical mindset and strong problem solving skills. The Engineers must have experience of working in and international and multicultural environment, with ten years of working for drill and blasting contractor or mine. English spoken, reading and writing language skills are essential.
Salary is negotiable and will depend on knowledge and experience.
