Job description / Role
The Senior Drilling Engineer is a key role accountable for engineering activity covering the planning and execution of drilling and operations within each of BP's wells teams. Reporting to the Drilling Engineer Team leader, the post holder will provide oversight to a team of Drilling Engineers to ensure delivery of high quality well planning and execution activities. You will ensure full integration between sub-surface, PSCM and wells teams throughout the wells programmes and strive for continual performance improvement through knowledge management and application of technology.
*Leading by example with a strong commitment to HSSE, to deliver the Drilling Engineering and Operations planning work programme through sanction, operations preparation and well delivery.
*You will work with other disciplines like, sub-surface, PSCM, HSS&E, Central Engineering to deliver safe and compliant well construction.
*Responsible for technical integrity and assurance of well designs and oversee full integration between sub-surface and wells teams during the planning process.
*You will perform appropriate assurance and review of drilling planning work, including cost estimates, risk management contingency and mitigation.
*You will coach and mentor a team of Drilling Engineers and Graduate hires in early development programme, to develop highly skillful talents for the organization.
*You will strive for continual performance improvement through knowledge management and application of new technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor or advance degree in engineering or applied sciences like math and physics
*Minimum 10 years experience in a Drilling Engineer role delivering all aspects of detailed Drilling Engineering.
