Employment: Full Time

My client an independent Oil & Gas Operator based in London require Senior Drilling Engineer to support the exploration and development of well planning activities. You will be the key technical point of contact within the well engineering team for internal and external stakeholders, including Geoscience & Reservoir Engineer based internationally. As well as regular interaction with the in-country well engineering operations team.

You will develop the conceptual completion designs for new wells projects, assuring that well engineering designs and programmes meet company and agreed industry standards, in particular with respect to well integrity and environmental policies. You will lead and document the risk management process throughout the well design and planning activities, and manage closeout of actions working closely and in collaboration with the geoscience and subsurface teams.

Providing specialist technical support to stakeholders. Monitoring progress, and providing support to, the in-country well engineering operations team during well operations, and providing progress to stakeholders. Assist and audit the completion & testing activities. Whilst promoting the health & safety culture, sharing of incidents, alerts and performance issues appropriately.

Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets at all levels. Taking responsibility for contractor and supplier performance management. Working with the Procurement team to establish the optimum contracting strategies for delivery of well completion, testing & maintenance scope.

Requirements

In order to be considered for this opportunity you must be degree educated in engineering or equivalent. With experience in welling engineering and knowledge of drilling, production, geology, reservoir engineer disciplines.

You will have previous experience and knowledge of land based exploration and development drilling activities in remote locations. Advanced knowledge of industry normal practices associated with testing, work-over, wire-line and completion operations. Understanding of well control techniques and advanced casing design, and be familiar with API & other recognized industry standards & recommended practices.

You will understand the engineering criteria associated with well construction and intervention operations and be familiar with API & other recognized industry standards & recommended practices. You will understand Geological and Petroleum Engineering priorities and well associated requirements, well budgets and cost allocation and monitoring; cost optimization techniques. You will have good software skills and familiarity with well planning and design packages.
