Job description / Role
Prepares electrical process and HV/LV distribution system designs and specifications including water and wastewater pump stations and treatment plants, district cooling systems, irrigation, general infrastructure and related facilities in coordination with other disciplines.
Prepares presentations, design reports, specifications, calculations, drawings, tender documents, procurement packages and cost estimates for FEED/EPC, design build and design, bid-build contracts.
Supervises junior engineers and CADD.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering.
At least 15 years relevant electrical design experience.
At least 5 years relevant work experience in Middle East preferably on FEED projects
Knowledgeable in HV and LV design principles as applied to water and infrastructure projects.
With experience in HAZOP and related studies, including hazardous area zoning.
Proficient in the use of engineering software packages covering single line diagrams, load schedules, short circuit analysis, harmonic analysis and electrical equipment selection e.g. motors, transformers, generators, switchgear, MCCs and cables.
Has thorough knowledge of relevant local and international standards and codes of practice with particular reference to NEMA, NEC, EN and IEC standards.
