The RoleThe RoleThe successful candidate will complete a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within the electrical engineering discipline. The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in engineering theories and practices for power distribution systems (HV, MV, and LV) and electrical designs within infrastructure support facilities including pump stations, sewage treatment plants, etc. He must be proficient in CAD (computer aided design) applications. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately. Extract engineering information from CAD drawings. Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments. Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials. Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses. Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. Provide technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project. Must be able to provide assurance to management that designs comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances. May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. |
RequirementsRequirements- 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering and 8-10 years of related work experience. - Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer or equivalent is highly desirable. - Experience in dealing with local electrical agencies. - Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages associated with engineering. |
