Job description / Role
Performs conventional and moderately-complex engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline. The Engineer at this level is proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Responsible to ensure the correct implementation of the project quality plan and quality procedures and productivity related to all electrical works in accordance with program of work on construction site.
Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately. Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings. Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments. Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Provides technical guidance to MEP CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project. To be fully aware of the project electrical specifications, drawings and design criteria. Coordinate with the consultant in preparation of method of statements related to Electrical works. Report on progress to the MEP Manager and Design Manager as necessary.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University
- 8 years of related work experience, GCC experience is preferred
- Knowledge and experience with design of large scale electrical systems and infrastructure
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications word, excel etc
- Thorough understanding of BS standards/ local Regulations and Codes
- Experience in HV / LV projects, pump station projects, Waste Water Projects, Substations
- Experience in the construction of large industrial or infrastructural projects is highly preferred
