Description and Desired Qualifications Senior Electrical Engineer - Abu Dhabi, UAE Job Purpose To perform the oversight of the engineering activities related to the Prime Contractor's (PC's) and his Sub-Contractors/Suppliers' deliverables during the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of Braka Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) with the focus on electrical systems and equipment . Electrical Deliverables Review Conducts primary technical reviews, as appropriate, on assigned PC's design deliverables related to electrical power equipment and associated protection, control, and monitoring systems including, but not limited to, general arrangement drawings, single line diagrams, schematic drawings, cable management systems, electrical equipment sizing calculations / analysis, protection logic, relevant technical specifications, procurement and tendering packages to ensure they are in compliance with PC requirements, project schedule, and UAE laws and regulations, where relevant. Monitors the PC in all aspects of Electrical systems and equipment, during the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of BNPP, such as power transformers, generator, motors, load centers, motor control centers, switchgears, cables, etc. Reviews vendor documentations for the compliance with the PC requirements with respect to electrical equipment and materials. Coordinates and approves primary technical reviews of PC's and/or ENEC's processes and procedures and prepares technical reports on findings. Accepts electrical equipment design change and non-conformance reviews and evaluations. Ensures development of required documentation of the review process, including comments, recommendations and corrective actions plans for the PC. Ensures that assigned electrical installations are performed in accordance with the engineering design requirements, project contract agreements, schedule and ENEC's Safety and Quality standards. Technical Support Provides technical input and expertise to the PC's and Sub-Contractors/Suppliers' electrical related deliverables as a functional team member. Supports the engineering, safety, planning, and quality surveillance discipline members in the tasks resolution process. Coordinates and oversees installation and commissioning activities within his/her area of responsibility to ensure compliance to project specifications and governing codes. |
RequirementsRequirementsBasic Qualifications Requirements Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering 4 to 10 years of experience in Electrical equipment installations Experience in major projects development Experience in power plant design, construction or industry operations, in an engineering role Responsible for direct coordination of activities carried out in his/her area. Responsible for advising management on issues affecting the project. Nuclear Safety Awareness Knowledge of design techniques and tools Ability to read technical drawings MS Office Initiative: Provides heads up to lead on potential issues. Highlights foreseen problems with existing design documentation, contractor implementation, work procedures. Ability to communicate effectively Team working Intellectual curiosity Analytical thinking Active listening Time management Desirable Qualifications: Master degree in Electrical Engineering or business / management Broad experience in providing technical support to the electrical installations during the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of power plant.
